All are welcome here. If you are seeking a warm, trusted professional to partner with on your journey, you have come to the right place.
ABOUT DR. ERICA LEE (she/her)
Welcome.
I became an Ivy League trained, board certified psychiatrist after working for over a decade in hospital-based mental health and becoming an advocate and organizer for increased access to mental health services for teens, young adults, and physicians. In addition to advanced psychopharmacology training and medical training, I have expertise in many evidence based psychotherapies, in particular psychodynamic psychotherapy and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). I also incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems, attachment, and mind-body therapies in my work.

HOW I CAN HELP
Timely, personalized care that meets you where you are at.
This practice is small and patient centered, allowing patients increased access to appointments than a traditional psychiatric clinic. This concierge model allows for combination treatment (e.g. psychiatric medications and psychotherapy) to more easily fit your busy schedule.
-
I provide a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation of your difficulties in the context of your life experiences and biological risk factors, reviewing your psychiatric, medical, and developmental histories. A full evaluation for adults is typically completed after two 50 minute sessions and for children and adolescents is typically completed after three 50 minute sessions.
-
I offer culturally sensitive, personalized psychotherapy sessions that are tailored to your struggles, drawing from my training in multiple evidence based psychotherapy modalities and medical knowledge informing lifestyle interventions. I also offer psychedelic integration sessions. These sessions occur at least weekly and are 50 mins in duration.
Medication management services as below can be provided within psychotherapy sessions if medication can be a viable tool.
-
Parenting is difficult when life is so busy. I provide 50 minute sessions with parents/caregivers of children of all ages (including adult children) focused on addressing behavioral concerns, improving relationships, and making communication easier. I have particular interest in working with parents of children who are leaving home for college or private boarding schools.
-
I offer 50 minute family therapy sessions to help families navigate grief, conflict, communication breakdowns, and acculturation issues. I work with families with younger children as well as adult children with their siblings and parents. I also work with 2 people (ie a patient and their sibling or parent) together.
-
I provide psychiatric follow up sessions that incorporate psychiatric medication management, lifestyle interventions, and supportive psychotherapy. These sessions can be integrated into a formal psychotherapy treatment or provided separately. I coordinate with primary care physicians and psychotherapists to support your care team as a whole. Sessions are at least monthly and 30-50 minutes in duration.
-
I offer academic and life coaching to individuals across the United States and around the world, typically focused on one particular goal and time limited.
-
I provide supervision and consultation in psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and building private practices to mental health providers. Please reach out for availability.
THE APPROACH
Values important to this practice
PRESENCE
You deserve to be heard and listened to. A warm, trusting relationship is the foundation of any work we do together.
CURIOSITY
I tailor healing to each individual and family, not diagnoses. As I get to know you, we work together to precisely adjust your treatment. We will use an evidence informed toolkit that includes psychotherapy, lifestyle interventions, and medication without favoring one tool over another.
STRENGTHS BASED
You have worked hard to attain your professional goals and the skills you have developed will be invaluable to creating the change you are seeking. This practice is neurodiversity affirming and aims to figure out what works best for you.

Midtown Manhattan Psychiatry is out of network with all insurance carriers to provide premium psychiatry services without the limits of insurance. If you are seeking to use out-of-network insurance benefits, a superbill can be provided to you. Midtown Manhattan Psychiatry does not bill to or accept payments from Medicare or Medicaid, meaning that the practice does not accept patients with these insurances, even if they are self-pay. Coaching is not billable to insurance.
If you would like to check your out of network benefits with your current health insurance plan, it may be helpful to know the codes that would be billed to check for their reimbursement rate, in addition to knowing if there is a deductible that needs to be reached. The codes are below:
Evaluation/Consultation: 90792
30 minute sessions: 99213 or 99214 (depending on complexity) and 90833
45 minute sessions: 99213 or 99214 (depending on complexity) and 90836
-
Midtown Manhattan Psychiatry reserves the right to charge the fee for a full session for any missed appointments or late cancellations within 48 hours of the session time.
